Their web site has a number of ideas and they also run a yearly open house weekend called Shrewsbury Green Doors where you can visit houses which have made use of better, greener building and energy use.

The picture to the right shows rainwater collection which is then used to flush the downstairs toilet - one of a number of initiatives on show at the 2013 Green Doors weekend.

Build it international

An international development charity (based locally), working with local communities in Africa to build essential facilities in an environmentally friendly way - ie using rammed earth.  They are receiving tools from Tools for Self Reliance (recycling section)
