At a personal level we can all do something to encourage wildlife into our town.
In gardens and window boxes we can give nature another chance.
Grow nectar-laden flowers to feed bees and butterflies - if you have room, plant a hawthorn or rowan, or fruit or nut trees
Leave a pile of logs for beetles or simply let a patch of grass grow and wild things will return.
Make a few bird boxes, simple and cheap. Look on the internet for plans.
